Marcia Stanford

LCMHC-A

Marcia moved to the beautiful state of North Carolina 25 years ago with her husband and children. She was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years before returning to school and earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Liberty University in 2014. She then started working for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Cleveland County, and while there, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Human Services with a concentration in Crisis Response and Trauma Counseling from Liberty University in 2019. After a few years, she returned to school and recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and is now a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate.

Marcia has a passion for people and loves helping individuals find their strengths and abilities on the other side of their struggles. Working in the Pregnancy Care Center, she has 10 years of experience with women and families who have faced pregnancy loss, homelessness, and unintended pregnancy, and it holds a special place in her heart. She desires to treat the whole person and their overall well-being, and not just the symptoms they are experiencing. Marcia’s love for God and people drives her to continue learning and focusing on how best to help her clients on their unique healing journey. Marcia works with children, adolescents, and adults who experience a wide range of life changes and challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship issues. Her theoretical emphasis is person-centered, and she uses CBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy as some of her therapeutic modalities to help find the best fit for her clients' unique needs.
